In updating its advice, CEBAA recommends that potential buyers interview at least two real estate agents before choosing one as their Exclusive Buyer’s Agent (EBA). According to the association, taking the time to interview several candidates helps buyers find the agent who is the best fit for their needs.
Finding the right EBA to work exclusively for the buyer is the first step in the property purchasing process. The purchase of a home is one of the most significant asset investments people can make in their lifetime. The right agent can make this process smooth and stress-free, and as a member of CEBAA, can be relied on to be loyal, confidential, and accountable.
Buyers should also seek a real estate agent with thorough knowledge of the local area and housing market, as well as access to home financing programs. An EBA is a valuable member of the industry because they are focused on the needs of the buyer, rather than trying to balance the often conflicting expectations of the buyer and the seller.
CEBAA is able to provide lists of Buyer’s agents who do not list properties, preventing a conflict of interest and emphasizing that the role of the agent is to help buyers find their perfect home, rather than simply selling them a house.
CEBAA is a not-for-profit trade association established in 1999, and all members provide exclusive buyer-side services. The association has a presence in Colorado, Denver, Boulder, Breckenridge, Colorado Springs, and Western Slope.
A satisfied home buyer explained why they were happy to have used a CEBAA agent, “He took the extra time, the extra work, to help us find the 100% perfect house. We have a better house with a better neighborhood and better schools.”
