Vail anyone?
As we continue with our series on buying a vacation home in Colorado, we will take a look at the gorgeous town of Vail. In the previous weeks, I have covered towns such as: Telluride, Beaver Creek, Aspen, and Steamboat Springs. Every week an average 1,000 sqft condo is being evaluated for the average asking price, monthly mortgage rate, nightlife, things to do, and how to find a local buyers agent.
So let’s get started.
Looking for live music? Check out the Shakedown Bar. Wednesday nights, join in the fun with Pub Crawl! They have raffles, drink specials, and giveaways as well. In case you get hungry late at night, swing by The Sandbar who serves food as late as 1:30 am. Ride the nation’s first moving bar, the Turtle Bus Bar! Whatever you choose, the possibilities are endless.
For all the Daywalkers
Bob Sled Run? It’s public, live your dream. Of course, there are the amazing slopes and nordic center…you can’t call it Colorado without these. For the history buffs, Camp Hale is a WWII training camp from 1942 to the army. Take a horseback ride, snowmobile tour, or enjoy a day of golf. Vail is a great place to be for any person having a vacation home.
Location, location, location.
Parts of Vail are priced differently and a good place for buying a vacation home. For example, a 1,000 sqft condo can run anywhere from $400,000 to $1,195,000. On the west end of town, a 1,072 sqft condo, 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo is at $434,900. In fact, that would bring the average monthly mortgage payment to about $1,949. The great thing about this town is that the rental rates are comparable to monthly mortgage payments. You can expect to recoup some of this money by renting the condo out when you are not using it for about $1,900 a month! This makes the investment worth it!
